Manager Homologation (M/F/D)
at the Kia Europe GmbH Headquarters in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.
Job mission:
Be the main point of contact for all homologation and regulatory-related matters at Kia Europe, for both internal and external stakeholders. Ensure that all necessary regulatory requirements are understood and fulfilled to facilitate a successful product launch and ensure timely registration.
Area of Responsibility: All Kia brand vehicles and vehicle-related services with regulatory implications.
Your Responsibilities:
Management of all homologation and regulation matter at Kia Europe.
Be the main contact for subsidiaries and importers to support Homologation activities.
Support Research & Development (R&D) Korea and Hyundai Motors Europe Technical Center (HMETC/ R&D Center) queries coming from Headquarters (HQ) about local regulation.
Communicate and coordinate with markets and internal functions any Homologation & Registration related subjects.
Monitor & inform of regulatory change impacting vehicles. E.g. End of Series.
- Issue ad-hoc communication to manage “end of series” (vehicles not complying with new regulations)
- Support Kia Europe and subsidiaries with regards of stock management
Contribute to knowledge capitalization by setting up or modifying business processes, including issuance of Homologation manual.
Asses impacts for Kia Europe and markets of the future Homologation trends and share across Kia Europe relevant departments.
Support issuance of Homologation bulletin & Ad hoc communication as required.
Participate in the Operational Launch Committee to report latest Homologation status.
Issuance of the Order Pack to Variant & Version Link Table and distribute it across KME and markets.
Upload Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) files to Product SharePoint and communicate to markets.
Verification of Certificate of Conformity (CoC) data integrity per model prior to the CoC issuance.
Verification of vehicle data in ICMS (CO2 calculation tool) prior to the CoC issuance.
Support Market Surveillance activities when required.
Your talents:
University degree in Mechanical Engineering or related; Business or Law degrees with focus on regulation and certification will also be considered along with relevant work experience
MBA or relevant Master’s degree is a plus
A minimum of 5 years relevant pan-European work experience in the field of vehicle regulations such as EU/UNECE
Familiarity with investigating in regulatory journals from the EU
Deep knowledge in the field of type approval for passenger cars
Ability to interpret European Directives or Regulations into business requirements to support key decisions
Sound quantitative and analytical skills to gather and interpret data to support key decisions
Organized and detail-oriented
Interest and curiosity about European Automotive regulatory topics
Proficient with the Microsoft Office products especially with MS Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for presentations
Fluent in English (written and spoken). Additional European languages are a plus
Good interpersonal skills and experience working with people from a variety of European backgrounds
Self-confidence, positive thinking, resilient, flexibility and ability to adapt in a multicultural and fast moving environment
High level of engagement to solve issues and help others
Cooperative nature to work closely with peers within the company to ensure smooth information flow and a good collaboration
Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
Familiarity with working with Asian cultures / companies is a plus
