at the Kia Europe Headquarters in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.

Purpose of the job:

Ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software, data, and integration solutions that meet the needs of Kia customers and business teams, in the most efficient way in terms of time and cost, using state-of-the-art technology and methodology.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Function as the technical authority for IT projects

  • Manage IT projects from ideation through to delivery: Design, test, maintain, and optimize software, data, and integration solutions

  • Partner with Kia business teams and bridge the communication between business teams and vendors

  • Provide supervision and guidance to development teams

  • Assess technical choices and provide effort estimation for engineering tasks

  • Review design proposals and code changes

  • Identify deviations from requirements and communicate with stakeholders

  • Improve maintainability, testability, readability, usability, and extensibility of software systems

  • Implement and promote software engineering best practices and agile methodologies

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline

  • Proven professional software engineering experience

  • Sound knowledge of data structures, algorithms, databases, high-level programming languages (e.g. Java, Python or JavaScript), and DevOps technologies

  • Significant experience with major software development tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence) and agile methodologies

  • Technical team leadership (Tech Lead) or Senior Software Engineer experience is advantageous

  • Preferably track record of successful end to end IT project delivery

  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision

  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to new tasks and challenges in a fast-moving environment

  • Good interpersonal skills and multicultural competence

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills (working language)

  • Knowledge of SAP ERP, experience of the automotive industry, and project management experience are advantageous
