Assistant Manager Safety Analysis (all genders welcome)



at the Kia Europe Headquarters in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.


Job mission:

As a Safety Analysis Assistant Manager at Kia, you will play a key role in enhancing vehicle safety by analyzing complex datasets and identifying trends related to product quality and safety. You will support safety-related defect investigations and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure data integrity and contribute to innovative improvements. Additionally, you will act as the European contact for new IT systems related to safety data management:

  • Contribute to the European Safety Analysis Team

  • Evaluate all quality-related data from various markets and databases

  • Support quality and safety investigations by providing detailed analysis and insights

Your responsibilities:

  • Trend Analysis: Assist in establishing and standardizing processes for analyzing trends in complex, text-rich, and voluminous datasets containing information on product quality issues occurring in the market.

  • IT System Liaison: Support the European liaison role for new IT systems aimed at retaining recommendations, analyses, and supporting data for managing inactive/active safety-related defect investigations.

  • Data Monitoring: Monitor and analyze internal data sources (e.g., PIR accident reports, government complaints, warranty claims, Techline cases, Technical Service Bulletins) to identify emerging issues related to vehicle safety.

  • External Analysis: Monitor and analyze external data sources (e.g., VOQ’s, competitor recalls, government investigations) to identify emerging issues related to vehicle safety.

  • Deep-Dive Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis to assist in formulating recommendations for opening vehicle safety-related investigations on emerging issues, knowledge discovery, and proactive forecasting.

  • Committee Coordination: Support communication between the Data Review Committee and the Technical Review Committee on in-process proposals.

  • Industry Monitoring: Monitor new safety-related matters and rising trends in the industry and provide updates to ESO leadership on best practices and potential risks.

  • Innovation: Contribute to the development of new methods of trend analysis and problem-solving, drawing inspiration from best practices and innovations from competitors or other industries.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., service, engineering, legal, QA, factories) to help resolve issues with data integrity and delivery or make recommendations for innovative improvements.

  • Presentation: Assist in preparing and presenting results to the Data Review Board.



Your talents:

  • Education: University Degree in a technical discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience within Quality or Safety in the Automotive Industry.

  • Technical Knowledge: General automotive technical knowledge (e.g., body, chassis, brakes, electrical, safety systems).

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to self-check and ensure accuracy when analyzing high volumes of data and understanding granular levels of detail.

  • Decision Making: Capable of making independent judgments and understanding how various factors and trends can impact business decision-making.

  • IT Proficiency: Aptitude for identifying and using IT systems for in-depth analysis, including statistical quality analysis of large datasets.

  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to present information clearly and manage stakeholder expectations.

  • Work Environment: Desire to work in a fast-paced, multicultural, and result-oriented company.

  • Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); Korean fluency preferred.

  • Team player with a proactive and entrepreneurial approach.
